The Sacrament of Marriage

“For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her.”

Ephesians 5:25

The Sacrament of Matrimony / Marriage is the joining together of two individuals in religious solemnity to live together as one. It is a life-long union and commitment for mutual support which is essential to providing a framework for raising a family.

Choosing to be married in a Catholic Church implies that you have a real spiritual dimension to your life; that you understand the profound nature and commitment of the vows you make before God, asking Jesus to be part of your married life together and the blessing of the Church in your marriage.

In order to get married in the Catholic Church, at least one of you must be a Catholic. If you are thinking of getting married at Our Lady of the Rosary, please contact Fr Innocent to discuss your requirements and the arrangements to be made. It is important to give 6 months notice for your marriage, so that all documentation and marriage preparation courses can be arranged.
